Randall Scott Lewis, 63, husband to Kristen and father to Coleman and Lilly, passed peacefully surrounded by his family, on Jan. 12, 2025. Randall was born in Paris, Texas, on Jan. 11, 1962, the fourth child of Priscilla Scott Lewis (December 5, 2021) and Dr. Donald Record Lewis (February 24, 2002).
Randall grew up in Paris, Texas, and attended Paris High School, The University of Texas, and East Texas State University. He was a beloved teacher and golf coach at his high school alma mater, and working with the students brought him great joy. Randall had a true gift for mentoring and guiding students, not only in the classroom or the game of golf, but in life.
Randall’s top priority was always his family. He enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children, siblings, and their families. His other passions revolved around Lewis Farms, the Texas Longhorns, and his love for people. He taught his children how to do all things well in life and especially loved spending time with them doing outdoor activities, particularly fishing, hunting, and caring for his beloved cattle. He also had a passion for gardening and was an excellent cook. Randall had a zest for life, was an incredible storyteller, and will be remembered for his huge smile, delicious barbecue, and great bonfires. You could often find him driving around the farm with a cold Budweiser in hand and classic country music playing in the background. Randall will be remembered as an incredible father, husband, son, brother, and friend. His infectious spirit will live on in those lucky enough to have known him.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Priscilla and Donald Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Kristen Murphy Lewis; his children, Coleman Scott and Lillian Frances Lewis; his sister, Priscilla Lewis Darling (Bill); his three brothers, Donald Lewis Jr. (Mary Helen), Michael Lewis (Lisa), and Derek Lewis (Julie); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Randall’s life will be celebrated on January 15, 2025, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Paris, Texas, under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paris Education Foundation, P.O. Box 356, Paris, TX 75461.
